1st /8th Lancashire Fusiliers Burma Veteran



My grandad signed up on 15th January 1940 as you can see on photo.  Army no:- 3453062 .  He served in Burma and also mentioned that he met Churchill has his brigade was a special team sent out by Churchill. My mum has lots of his army paperwork including his old pay book so will bring them all to the service along with his medals.  I have sent the last photo to show we were a five generation family.

Roberts wife's Granddad Cpl Joseph Kirk served in WW1 with the Royal Lancaster Regiment
and won the DCM and was mentioned in dispatches


Distinguished Conduct Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, 1914/15 Star, War Service Medal 1914/20, Victory Medal with Oak Leaf Mentioned in Dispatches (see below)
