DVD1 Trieste
1954 and Weeton Camp 1967 This is a DVD of three films ,two taken in Trieste in 1954 and one taken in Weeton Camp Blackpool in 1967. The first film features The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment and the 2nd Bn Lancashire Fusiliers during the evacuation of Trieste(operation Trapper) and their subsequent arrival in Malta. The second is a film of the visit by HMS Bermuda to Trieste in 1954,featuring the 2nd Bn Lancashire Fusiliers trooping the Colour,Royal Marines,The Loyals Band,etc. The third film is in colour of the 1st battalion The XXth The Lancashire Fusiliers Trooping the Colours for the last time in the UK before disbanding the following year.The parade was at the ex RAF Camp at Weeton near Blackpool Many close ups of the soldiers plus the Aircraft Carrier HMS Centaur,The Frigate HMS Whirlwind,The Frigate HMS Loch Insh.HMS Bermuda,Amphibious LCMs,Amphibious Ramped Cargo lighters,etc,etc. Good footage of Major General Sir John Winterton,Major General Daunt,GOC Malta,Trieste Harbour,Pinto,Vehicles being loaded onto ships,etc,etc. All set to suitable military background music. A "Must" for militaria rare footage collectors .
