"A most unusual pic,believed to be the only time that the Officers of 3 line Battalions of the same Regiment have been pictured together.
They are the 1st,2nd and 3rd Bns of the XXth the Lancashire Fusiliers.
The pic is undated, but by careful reading and noting that they are wearing black armbands,I have come to the opinion that this pic was taken shortly after the death of Queen Victoria in January 1901.

The photos below the left hand one is where the photo above was taken and the right hand one is the trenchs you can see on the same photo and we were wondering about, they are the fortifications called the Binjemma lines.
